Coverton was baptized and confirmed on October 9, 2021 in Mountain View, WY. This was special because he got to share his big day with Boji, which was so neat!
Aunt Amy did a photo shoot with the boys a couple of weeks before their baptism. We got them matching suits, they looked so grown up and handsome! During the photo shoot, we may or may not have had to use potty language and silly boy jokes to make them laugh. These boys are so darling together and are the best of friends. We are so glad Boji and Cov have each other.
Leading up to the baptism and confirmation, we had many family night lessons and talks on baptism and confirmation. Covey has a very good understanding and desire to please the Lord. The day of his baptism, Cov woke right up, so excited! It was a beautiful rainy fall day and Covey said it reminded him that the world was getting clean again like he'd be getting clean again. We drove over, set things up, ran through our song, the boys got their jump suits, and we gave them the towels we had personalized with their names and the date of their baptism on it along with a CTR shield.
The program was a stake one. There were a few other kids getting baptized from their stake, so we had a program with everyone, but then Boji and Cov got to do their baptisms and confirmations together but seperate from the rest. Grandma Di played the prelude and postlude music on the piano and it was so beautiful! They first did spotlights on all the baptismal candidates. Here's what they said about Coverton:

There was a grandpa of one of the kids who spoke of baptism. He was sweet and when he said "It's a big deal!" that rang true to us. A big deal to make covenants with the Lord. A big deal to come in His fold. A big deal to start the journey on the covenant path. Then we did a musical number. Grandma Di arranged a couple of the boys' favorite Primary songs - I am Trying to Be Like Jesus and When I am Baptized. She played the piano, the boys sang, and Amy played her violin while I played my flute. The boys did so well! Dave recorded it during practice before, they brought tears to many eyes. I love their innocence and goodness in trying to do what is right. Then another grandpa spoke about the Holy Ghost. He talked about how many times our parents say "If you do [this] then you get to do [that]". He spoke of how the Holy Ghost is like that. The Father promises us that gift always with us, if we keep the commandments and do the things He asks us to do. He impressed upon the kids how important it was for them to keep the Holy Ghost with them and that it would help them. He said that the Holy Ghost never lies and that it would always lead them right, even if what you see on the outside seems different, the Holy Ghost can help them see thing as they really are.
Then it was time to go get baptized. Covey went first. He chose Lucy and Randy as his witnesses. About a year ago, President Nelson announced that any baptized member of the Church could be a witness, and since that announcement, Cov knew just who he would pick. Lucy was very excited and took that responsibiltiy seriously. It was so sweet! And of course we all know Covey's favorite is Uncle Randy so he picked him for his other witness, he has been talking about that for years. Covey was a little nervous about this, but did great and came up with a huge, happy smile! Then he went and got ready and Boji took his turn with his Dad baptizing him and his Rollins cousins, Roper and Wyatt as witnesses. Then we had some cards we got ready for others to write messages to the boys. We did that while we waited. Then it was confirmation time. Coverton was confirmed by his Dad, with all of his uncles in the circle. Boji went next and Sydnie was being a pill so I took her out in the hallway. We said a closing prayer, and then we had yummy donuts and flavored milks (the root beer milk was a hit) and visited to top off the morning. Covey kept going around and giving hugs and thumbs up to everyone! When I got my first hug after he was baptized and confirmed he said "I feel so good!" He said coming out of the water was the best part. He also got some fun gifts from family members to help him remember his covenants, a missionary bank, a baptism book, some boomerangs and a book from Grandma Di and Grandpa Scott reminding him of the covenants, a skeleton from Grandma Sue (that's what he asked for), some candy from cousin Amber that she bought herself, and a few more things.
Covey had a good group supporting him - Grandma Sue & Grandpa Dan, Grandma Di & Grandpa Scott, Aunt Mayela, Uncle Mark, cousin Amber, Aunt Amy, Uncle Kolby, Boji and Kanon of course, Uncle Jeff & Aunt Shirley, Uncle Randy and Aunt Erin (who cancelled a trip to be here and said they wouldn't miss it for anything!), Uncle Brian, and Aunt Julie & Uncle Todd and kids, andAunt Stacy & kids and Aunt Meghan & Uncle Adam & kids watched virtually. We are thankful for the faithfulness and support of our whole family. Cov is blessed to be surrounded by so many good people!
