Hosannah! Happy Easter!

"Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest" (Matthew 21:9). So thankful to celebrate this season of new life with my family!

We had a bunch of fun the week leading up to Easter!  What is not fun is trying to get pictures of our oldest two...eggheads! Teasing, love them too but they are always hiding from the camera so I don't have as many pictures of them.  We made egg geodes, egg maracas, did an egg drop, did a jelly bean science experiment, and made some marbled crayon eggs this year.  The egg drop was fun!  Covey did an "avacado toast" one and put his egg ("Jeff") into the avocado where the pit usually goes, and then wrapped it in bread, and then plastic wrap and and paper.  Jeff made it!  Lucy made a cute one too named Ricky and hers made it.  Sydnie's didn't though, bummer!  We also made some water color egg cards for family and ministering families to send in the mail.  I have been doing live videos for my preschool class, and I did that and made packets of fun Easter activities and treats for them.  I got a cute card in the mail from one of my students.  I miss those little guys!

On Easter morning, we woke up to lots of snow, which meant Easter inside.  W excitedly checked out the Easter basket goods; the kids got candy, some activity books, bunny ball poppers, carrot spinners, and floam. We had an Easter brunch that consisted of mixed berry coffee cake, baked egg casserole, and orange julius (and lots of candy that morning!) which the kids said it was the best breakfast ever!  We read some Easter books and talking about the symbols of Easter.  How bunnies, chicks, and eggs are symbolic of Christ's life, atonement, and resurrection.  They had some insightful thoughts!  Then we got all dressed up with no place to go.  We even had time to do hair, haha!  And we finished sewing their dresses just in the nick of time the night before.  The girls helped sew lots of their dresses this year, which was cool.  We took some pictures, which it seems no one is ever looking at the camera all at the same time. Then we had our worship service and sacrament meeting at home.  I loved especially when we sang "He is Risen" together.  We took the Sacrament, had a family council, and Cov gave a talk on how Jesus has helped him.  We played some games, like bunny tag and Simon says.  We sang songs of praise.  Then we went on a drive, it was sunny the kids pointed out, even though there was snow on the ground.  Then we had an Easter dinner, all of the kids helped make something the day before and Dave did the turkey.  Sydnie did the jello, Cov did the green bean casserole, Emma and did the fresh strawberry pie, Lucy did the mashed potatoes, Cal did the salad, and Emma did the orange rolls.  It was a tasty meal and we were all stuffed!  We talked about the resurrection and what happens after life and Cov said he bet Grammie was really busy that day.  I bet he's right. Then we did some video calls with both sides of the family, which was fun to talk to everyone over Zoom!  We made a mess making some melted crayon palm leaves.  We had our Easter egg hunt, which the kids did pretty well finding Daddy's tricky hiding spots but we had to have help on a couple!  We watched "Finding Faith in Christ",  which was Dave's idea and one of his favorites.  We took time to ponder on the significance of the life, atonement, resurrection and continuing influence of the Savior Jesus Christ. I know I talk so much about Him on social media and in person because that is who I am. I am thankful for who I can be because of Him. I feel like shouting "Hosanna!" every day because of all of the things He went through for me and that I know Him and that the present is wonderful and the future can be because of Him! Happy Easter to all! ðŸŒ¸ðŸŒ¿ðŸ’—🌿🌸

Trying to get a good shot of all the kids...haha!
