Summer is awesome and we love it so much and it is the best...the lazy days, lots of time together, time to do our own thing, extra sleep! Buuuut...somedays are feels like the worst! Sometimes there is arguing and fighting, battles over screen time, crazy schedules with Dave's EMT, the kids activities and work, and too much laziness and not wanting to do anything.
As I mentioned, somedays were hard. There were days kids and I were left in tears. But overall, we had some great days!
We have been loving our time in our backyard! The kids had a backyard campout one night...only two made it all night in the tent. Bug hunting, pool and swimming fun, sprinklers and hoses, science experiments, working in the garden. It is our happy place, though it's still a mess.
We got to go to the Viewmont HS 20 year reunion for Dave...a couple years late. So fun to be this Viking's date and see what his friends and acquaintances had to say about him back then. I married a good one.
We frequented the pool and Emma taught swim lessons and life guarded all summer. The kids had their swimming lessons. Sydnie was thrilled to have Emma as a swim teacher! She, Cov and Lucy did great!
We said farewell to summer by hitting up our favorite place - Bear Lake. We swam, played on the beach with Barbies, did some shell art, made a hot tub and more, went to Zips for dinner, and drove a surry around town, which our kids had never done and loved. On Sunday, we went Geocaching. It's always hard to say goodbye to these carefree family days!
