We made it to our first national park of the year! Yellowstone is only about 2 and a half hours from us, so we are pretty lucky it is so close. The kids were looking forward to seeing Old Faithful most of all. We decided to go on the way to our family reunion in Idaho. It was a great day to be together and enjoy God's beautiful creations! "I'm so glad that I live in this beautiful world, Heavenly Father created for me." (Clara W. McMaster)
The kids were in awe of all of the cool things - the Bison, the natural features, the lakes, the hot pots, everything! We saw lots of the main attractions in one day but are hoping to go back to see it all. They especially enjoyed seeing Old Faithful go off, checking out the Lodge, and enjoyed exploring the visitors center.
I couldn't help but think that as beautiful as all of God's creations are, my family is up at the top of the list for me. I love them! As it was Sunday, I was also thinking that staying on the paths and board walks were kind of like keeping the commandments. As we follow God's laws and do what He asks, we might seem restricted to some, but ultimately will enjoy life more and are safe from hidden dangers and unforeseen troubles. We can have peace in Christ in this world when we stay on His path!
We drove a little more that night and went to see Mesa Falls. They were majestic! The kids were blown away by how big they were. Then we stopped for the night in Idaho Falls and everyone was wide awake instead of tired, lol! So we stayed up and talked and watched some shows on TV. It was a great day and we can't wait to go back again!
