Sydnie babes - you are 4 and we can't believe it! After lots of back and forth, Sydnie asked for a racoon themed birthday for this year. Seems fitting. They are so cute and seem sweet but can be little stinkers, too. Sydnie definitely keeps us on our toes and we can't imagine life without her!
We had a little friend birthday this year. Livi, Elena (and her sister Ellie), Liam (and his sister Layla), Cora and Cade, and Katelyn (and her brother Aidan) all came. We enjoyed having each cute kiddo! First, we decorated racoon party hats. The kids colored them so cute! Next, it was clean the yard game where the kids had to throw felt food and soft balls on the opposite side where the other team was as quick as they could to have the least amount on their side after. We did all our outdoor games inside because it was sooo hot and smoky outside. Then we played a saran wrap prize game and the kids had to roll a pair of dice and when they got doubles, they had to unwrap with some gloves until they got a prize. After that, it was a little sticker craft we got. Then pin the tail on the raccoon. She was being a little stink a bit, trying to boss people around because it was her birthday or thinking she could get away with anything because of it, ha! We did a pinata next (who would've thought they'd have a racoon pinata, but they did!) and the kids loved the candy, especially Sydnie. "Just one more!" she kept saying with a grin. Sydnie said this was her favorite thing about her party. Then we had cake and ice-cream. Not bad for something we threw together pretty quick, it was fun to do. Of course presents last, she got some really cool things and wanted to play all evening. She gave her friends the biggest hugs, sweet. After friends went home and we went to McDonalds (her choice for birthday dinner) and Crumbl cookie to get some cookies for the next day, as all the cake was gone. We also ran a couple of errands and went and played at the park together. She is such a fun girl to play with and be with!
Sunday, her real birthday, Sydnie was worn out and didn't want to wake up. But once she did, she took control of the day. "It's my birthday, I can choose!" we heard all day. Oh sheesh! She wanted Lucky Charms for breakfast and we got ready for church. Many wished her a happy birthday and they sang to her in Primary. When we got home, we played, then had her birthday lunch. She wanted fish so we made parmesan tilapia, rice pilaf, grilled broccoli, salad and cherry jello. She didn't eat much food when we all did, but then she got into an eating race with Cal and Emma and they would challenge her to eat all her rice before they ate one grain, so funny! Dave had to leave, so she shared her final snuggles with him. She has been missing Daddy a lot, as he already started his job, but we can't get down there yet. We played tickle bots (where everyone goes around acting like robots that tickle each other), had a dance party, talked to Grandma and Grandpa Ryerse and McKenzie on the phone, opened up presents with Grandma and Grandpa Stoddard joined in on a video call. Sydnie was thrilled about her Cry Baby doll, magic water paint coloring book and set that had a sleeping bag and tent in a bag, and the money from the Grandparents. She said she was rich now and going to buy lots of pink bubblegum balls. We had our Come, Follow Me lesson, then had leftovers for dinner, jumped on the tramp, went on a walk, then started watching a movie. It was a full couple of days to celebrate this little gal we love so much!
Sydnie is 4!
Sydnie is a great friend. Everywhere we go, she makes a new best friend.
She is very talkative and vocal. She is not afraid to speak up to adults or children.
Stubborn and independent. Can't do anything for that girl, she has to do it herself!
Says the funniest things. Recently, when we were telling all the kids to choose the right, she said "I'm going to choose the left!" She told us when we went to get tacos one day while out running errands "Taco Bell is spicing me out right now!" And after doing makeup, "I'm just all sparkly and leave my sparkle everywhere!"
She loves being outdoors and playing in the sunshine and fresh air. Recently, she was getting very soiled and when I was just about to get mad at her she exclaimed "I love getting dirty!"
Sydnie has a great imagination and plays really well with any type of toy or random things she finds around the house. She loves to play with "boy" or "girl" toys.
The only child in our family who has screamed so loud in the store everyone there could hear her. We had to leave the store without making our purchases because she wouldn't stop her tantrum.
Sydnie has always had a fascination with makeup since she was a little babe. She is always up for doing makeovers on others and herself.
Says she is a talented pooper! One day when Dad was helping her wipe, he called us in and said there was a frog on a log. We looked in the toilet and sure enough, saw a green frog looking poop over a brown log that she had produced. Dave took a picture, but I refuse to put it in our family photo album. Then another day, she screamed to us all "you all need to come see this!" We went in and she told us she had pooped out a rocket, and sure enough, it looked like a rocket. She said how cool it would be if it shot out of the pot and up into space. She then said "I am a talented pooper!" so proudly. She also thought up that she wanted to poop out and spell the letters in her name sometime. Ewwww, lol!
Sydnie loves her siblings, Daddy even more, and sometimes Mommy. She will hug us around the neck often and says "I love you so much!" She's also such a snuggler! Loves giving hugs and snuggles. We will take it!
Still having a hard time pronouncing her "r" sounds. Sounds like ow. So when she told people she was 4, sounded like she said "fow".
