Somewhere at a super rad birthday party...

Callahan turned 7!  The whole month, Cal would go to the calendar and count down the days to his birthday, he was so excited!  We had a few celebrations for him.  We woke up and Dave went and got donuts...and got Cal a HUGE donut, which he was stoked about.  He was only able to make it through about a fourth.  :)  The rest of the day was spent playing, running some errands, and just relaxing with the family.  Cal loves pulling the birthday card and thinking he can do whatever he wants.  "It's my birthday..." is his favorite thing to say the whole week of his birthday.

We had Cal's party that night. We were lucky enough to have all of the Utah family there.  We ate Hawaiian haystacks (and as is Ryerse tradition, grab a few Little Ceasars pizzas, lol!), had a Wii party which the kids loved, sang to Cal, Randy and Jeff (who also have November birthdays), and ate ice-cream cake and had ice-cream sundaes, then opened presents.  Cal got some fun things and loved it all...the money, BYU scarf, football, Avengers Squinkies, lego sets and remote control trick car.  He had a blast!

Cal asked to have a friend birthday, as we usually do family ones since it's over Thanksgiving.  He asked to do an Aquabat themed party (this kid comes up with the best themes) and I loved the idea (dad was not as thrilled and thinks The Super Show dulls the kids' minds) as I grew up as an Aquabats groupie.

We made Cal and all of his buddies goggles out of fun foam.  And for Cal, we made the rash guard (already had his swimming shirt, just printed out the A and taped it on), belt (also made out of foam and paper and tape) and anti-negativity helmet (made out of cheap thick fabric from Walmart & don't we all need to be a little more positive!?).  We decorated with black, white, and blue.

As the kids were coming, we had one of their CDs playing and did a coloring contest and the boys ran around.  We had a huge crew!  Cal wanted to invite the brothers within a year or two of his age as well so no one felt left out.  So I thought that was sweet, but thought we'd only have about half come, but all but one we invited came.  So it was a crazy, loud party!  He he!  We had dinner and ate "Friday was Pizza Day Pizza", "Burger Rain", "Snakey Snacks", "Holy Guacamole" "We've got chips" (if you don't understand that, sorry, they're all from their songs/show.  The boys chowed down and told jokes and talked and laughed the whole time.  After eating, since most or none of the boys knew what the Aquabats were, we watched Season 1, Episode 1 of The Aquabats! Super Show!  The one about Man Ant.  The boys who were watching were busting up, and some were running around playing hide and go seek or shooting Nerf guns. Then we had a dance off to some Aquabats tunes, some of the boys liked that...Cov liked it best, he loves dancing!  It was time for Pin the Mustache on the Bat Commander next.  They were so funny and did pretty!  We then had our "Good Life" donut cake for Cal.  Easiest cake I've ever made!  ;)  The boys thought it was pretty cool and were actually very polite, though wild.  Cal has some great friends.  We then went and did present time.  Cal got some great Lego sets, board games, art stuff, dinosaurs, and his favorite, his remote control helicopter.  Daddy and Cal have been putting that to good use, and I don't know who plays with it more!  :'D  One day, when I took Cal and Emma somewhere and as we were driving home and Dad was home working on the sink, Cal said "I bet you Daddy's home playing with my helicopter.  If he is, I will have to ground him from it because he didn't ask!"  Lol!  Finally, we let all of the kids do the "punch pinata".  It took quite a while to make, but it was fun and worth it.  They got to pick a circle to punch through and there were treat bags in the cups behind each circle.  They all loved it!  Cal had a great birthday!  After the party, Cov kept saying "I want to be an Aquabat!" and kept getting dressed up in Cal's costume in different ways.  Ha ha!  Another Aquabat fan in the house.
