One night, we took Emma to the late showing of Star Wars and a few days later, Dave and Cal went together. It was awesome, and we all thought it was true to what Star Wars is all about. Cal was so excited, he made movie posters and put them up all over! The force is with this family.
We were able to meet up with lots of friends, which was so fun!
The day after Christmas, we got together with my high school friends - Emily, Amanda, and Stacie and their spouses and families. We had a bunch of breakfast crescent braids and hung out at my parents, talking and catching up. Kris, Mike, and Matt were unable to make it, but we were glad we had those we did because we are all scattered everywhere now. We are growing in number, with 3 new babies on the way soon! It's always great to see these good people who I get to call friends.
We went to Temple Square with Mark, Mayela & Amber. Always so beautiful and visiting makes it feel like Christmas! Then we went to their house to warm up with hot chocolate and games.
One day, we went up to Ogden, went shopping, drove around the temple, got some work done on our car (so we got a rental car which was a Honda Odessy van, which almost changed Dave's mind about mini vans and the kids loved), visited the mall, got some stuff at Costco, and met up with our South Ogden friends - the Dalivas, Freys, Fullers, Gambles, Halleys, and Yangs, We had a potluck and the church, let the kids run around and play, and we all gabbed all night. We were so blessed to have such a great support network. Lucy became instafriend with Emily, one of the Frey's twins, Cal and Easton hit it off again like they'd never been apart (they moved to Spokane shortly after us and we spent a lot of time together), Emma enjoyed seeing Michelle & Elisha & Jenica again, and Cov never knew any of them but ran around and played just the same.
Dave was sick for 3 whole days, really bad. Poor guy! Lots of football games helped him get through it. 'Tis the season for bowl games! And when Dave wasn't dying, Cov was trying to stick his football helmet on him. He got a kick out of it. Cov wore his football outfit everywhere, all of the time and never wanted to take it off the entire week we were visiting.
I was able to go to the temple and do a session, it was such a nice morning!
The kids had sleepovers with their cousins, so that's always fun for them! Our nieces and nephews are good, fun kids. Love them! We played and played and played some more, and then we crashed. And all enjoyed sleeping in each morning with no responsibilities really. We were totally lazy, and I kind of liked it! Let's hope we can get un-used to being that way quick though, and back to a routine, which is always nice! :)
