Our St. Patrick's Day shenanigans were extra fun this year! The kids decided they wanted to make a pool for the leprechaun to relax in rather than try to trap this year. They were met with cute shamrock, leprechaun and rainbow suckers and a nice note in the morning that said "Thank you for the nice rest! Truly lovely it was!" - Goldy the Leprechaun. The younger kids were thrilled the leprechaun was a girl this year and could tell she took a dip in the pool because things were moved around and the water was green. Goldy left a path of sprinkles to the door and there were and they spotted Goldie's green footprints in the snow! She also left some Lucky Charms for us for breakfast and turned the milk green too. The kids got a green home lunch and some lucky notes. Sydnie had the most fun at school - her leprechaun - Goldy too! tied up her teacher Mrs. Olson and they had a fun breakfast surprise. We had a busy day from Dave working a long day, me subbing, to helping out at the book fair, singing group, play dates, a junior high dance for Cal, and Emma had to go take pictures for yearbook. We had a dinner that most of us were there for - pork loin, green mashed potatoes, green peas, and green jello salad. Then for dessert, the kids helped me make a mint Oreo dessert. Yum! We were all pooped and didn't do much else to celebrate except watch a movie and Mom and Sydnie fell asleep in it. It seemed like we always had one out of the house so we didn't get a picture of the kids all together this year. But I was thinking that even though we may be in different places, we are all united in love as a family wherever we are. This is so true - "There is no strength without unity." -Irish Proverb. I hope our family can always be strong by being united in our mission and purposes!
