Coverton is now 3 and one in a "Minion"

Our baby is 3!  He's been so excited for this birthday and knew exactly what he wanted for his party...a Minion one and specifically asked for a minion pinata.  He often says he wants to be a minion when he grows up so it is appropriate...high ambitions for this kid!  ;)

We had a birthday celebrating him during our family reunion to Bear Lake.  He loved being with his cousins and other family, getting to visit a cave, swim on the beach, having a party and going to the hot springs on his day.  It was a fun little party, and it was fun that he and Grammie share a birthday.  Cov was confused though, since it was his birthday.  I think in his 3-year-old mind he's thinking that only one person is born each day.  We had hot dogs and all the fixings for dinner, which is one of his favorites.  We first played pin the party hat on the minion.  Then it was sticker tag with minion stickers which the kids loved.  Then we did the minion pinata and rounded off the fun by having minion Twinkies.  Not exactly a homemade cake, but at least the kids and I colored the Twinkie wrappers, putting a personal touch on them.  Last, he opened his presents and read the cards, he loved it all and had a very happy day!

We also had a little combined birthday for Cov and cousin Sawyer, who just turned 1 while we were down in Utah.  She's a little doll and we love her.  We had a BBQ, played together and had a little smash cake for Sawyer and ice-cream cake for Covey.  She liked the little tutu and wand we got her (Tayla and Em picked it out) but didn't like the crown, lol!  We sang "happy birthday" Ryerse style and Cov covered his ears, lol!  He liked the oversized sprinkles on the cake and all of the fun gifts he got from family.
Happy 1st Birthday cute Sawyer!  Stacy took this fun photo!

Cov got a "motorcycle bike" and a BB8 helmet for his birthday.  He's been wearing that helmet around everywhere and carrying it around like a friend.  He even gives it kisses sometimes.  When Daddy set up his bike after we got home, he kept riding it around and saying "This bike is so cool!"  "This bike is really, really cool!"  "Thanks, Daddy for my bike!" etc.

What a fun kid!  He keeps us on our toes and keeps us smiling.  We love Covey!

All about Covey at 3...

Is fascinated with motorcycles, ATVs, tractors, and trains.

Found out recently he's allergic to mosquito bites.  He got some nasty ones that made that area of his body swell and he needed special shots and medicine to recover.

He has quite the vocab and speaks pretty clearly, so many people think he's older than he is because of it.  He prefaces what he's going to say with "Actually" and frequently uses "injured" instead of "hurt" or "owie" and other words that aren't usually in the vocabulary of a three year old.

Wants to go to outer space and be an "asternaut".

Loves his brother, Cal.  These two are so sweet and love each other so much!

Cov loves Daddy, but is a total Momma's boy and sometimes almost too much!  "You are my favorite!" he tells us often.

He's still sucking his thumb when he's tired and he likes to hold my hair (or his own) while he's doing it.

Is a good eater and eats most food, but really likes candy.

Sometimes when he's sad he'll start crying out in the saddest voice "I want Jesus!"  So we say a prayer that the Spirit will be with him and he can feel the love of the Savior, which helps usually.

Cov loves his uncles and grandpas, and in particular, his Uncle Randy.  He always wants to "go to Randy's house" and asks to go play with him.

Loves playing with balls, what little boy doesn't? He has got pretty good aim, too.
