We finally found a place to call our own here in Kemmerer! After looking since last May, we got one. Our realtor, Heidi, kept telling us about this one and when it opened up in February, we saw it the next day and put an offer in a couple days later before the deadline when they would consider all of them. They got 3 or 4 other offers but they accepted ours! It is funny because the layout is almost the same as our Columbus home, only a bit more condensed and two bedrooms not finished yet. So when we came, it felt almost like we were coming home and meant to be. We get to stay in the 3rd ward, which was something the kids wanted, and the Antelope Ridge subdivision is right outside of town with so many great people and lots of kids in the neighborhood! Driving around last May when we came for the first time, I got such a good feeling when we drove in this area. It's not our dream home, but for now, we love it and feel so grateful to get in (especially with how crazy the housing market is getting here). The loan process and transition went smoothly. We closed on the 16th of March, and Amy met me right after to help me clean. She is one you want you to help clean, she is an amazing cleaning machine! The next day, I deep cleaned what we didn't get to as it was pretty filthy, then shampooed the carpets. That afternoon, we started moving things in with Jerry and Stacy's family's help. Friday, the Stoddard grandparents came all day, bringing cinnamon rolls and milk to get us going in the morning and helped move over 2 loads of stuff. We got a new enclosed trailer which was awesome! Dave has been looking at them for a long time and we finally got one. We have joked with all the moving we have done, we could have paid for it a long time ago. The Winkler's (ward members) and the Elders also came over to pitch in. We are feeling so grateful for family and good people who offered to help!! We had others volunteer but we turned lots of help down. The kids also helped a ton and were excited. Emma and Cal worked almost all day, Lucy and Cov did pretty well. The younger three even went in the yard and scooped up lots of the dog poop! They played in the backyard and found lots of the small toys that were left and made things with rocks and bark. Jazzy even seemed to like it, though she was nervous at first. The kids christened the bath, Sydnie even used the large bath in the master but splashed all over and made a huge mess. The older kids made some videos of our new house. Dave and I were so tired and it didn't help that I was sick all week. By Friday night, I was so hoarse and coughing up a storm. I hardly took any pictures because I was so out of it and moving is just stressful. Our new house is about 7 years old, 2,800 square feet, 2 levels, 4 finished bedrooms with 2 possible ones, 3 bathrooms and a large family room downstairs. And there is no lawn to put in so hopefully we are safe. I think we will like it here!
