Every day the week before his birthday he'd ask how many days until the big one. He got his kindergarten shots like a champ and was so brave. When it finally came, he woke up so excited! Everyone wished him a happy birthday and he had Pop Tarts, per his request, for breakfast. Then we got ready for church. They read in our names today and even wished Cov a happy birthday, which he thought was cool. Dave and I got to be in Primary today, as Cal was giving a talk, so we got to hear them sing "Happy, Happy Birthday" to him and join in also. He was making some silly faces and was pretty happy to be the center of attention. After church, the kids played at the park behind our church building. When we arrived home, we had a light lunch, looked at Cov's scrapbook of when he was born and a baby. Then we let the party get started. Cov's been asking for a blue motorcycle birthday for several months. We played "Pin the Wheel on the Motorcycle", decorated our dream motorcycle coloring sheets, did a motorcycle sound effects contest, and did a motorcycle simulator video online. We opened some presents - his whole party he kept asking "can we open presents now?". He got a couple Magic Tracks cars, a game, some candy, and his real present is coming this week - a blue motorcycle bike "I love my new magic tracks" he kept saying. We played with them quite a bit and he was so happy playing with them. He also got an angel Moroni he'd been begging for. He loves carrying it around. We did a dance party and played with the glow stick swords and the Magic Tracks that glow in the dark. After that it was "Let's eat cake now!" he said enthusiastically. So we sang to him and Skyped Grandma and Grandpa in too so they could sing and watch him blow out his candles too. He liked the cake, it was a blue cake decorated like a motorcycle. We borrowed a pan from Grandma Di we used for Daddy probably 10 years ago. Covey was thrilled with how it turned out and kept looking at it! A couple of days after his birthday, his big present got here, which was another blue motorcycle bike. He was growing out of his other one and needed a new one. He was thrilled and loves cruising it around and trying new tricks on it.
Oh how we love our Covey! He's so energetic. Always has a smile on his face. Talks back sometimes. Is independent. Has a great imagination. Little tough guy. Hates shots. Loves hugs. Very affectionate and passionate. Gets into trouble like a normal boy. A great brother. So silly and cracks us up. Complements everyone. Is full of gratitude. Has a great heart.
