Dave enjoyed his last birthday of his thirties on April 6. We actually celebrated a few times. The first being a few days early as we were in Bountiful for Spring break/Easter. We got together Friday night with the crew. We went on Razor rides, made homemade root beer, ate pizza and relaxed together. Emma and Lucy helped me make a letter R monogram candy cake. Total chocolate overload! We were going to go see Kong vs. Godzilla at the theatre, but it came out on a subscription they get so we watched that at home to end the night.
On Easter Sunday with my family, my mom made a cake for Dave and Mark (his birthday is the 8th) and we sang to them there.
On Dave's actual birthday, I woke up and got him some Big Fat Lunchbox breakfast burritos (his favorite!) and then we all went to work/school. On his mirror in our bathroom, I wrote on sticky notes "Have the happiest birthday D B R" (initials) and then I wrote a bunch of adjectives that describe Dave, like dashing for D, brilliant for B, refined for R, etc. When we got back in the afternoon, we went to Billings. Dave picked the Cracker Barrel to eat, which was a good choice. We joked around and did the sappy thing around the table where we tell him what we love about him. He makes us all smile and happy and is fun to be with. Then we headed to the batting cages and he really enjoyed that! The kids really got into it, too. For his present, he bought himself some bitcoin (crypto currency) and invested in the stock market. He's been pretty into that lately and been making some good money as he has time to tinker with it. When we got home, we sang and had cake (again)...this time a tuxedo cake from Costco we've never tried. Fun time celebrating this guy!
