Fabulous Fall Break

We were able to have Mark & Mayela visit during fall break, which was so much fun!

They got here late Wednesday night and we all crashed quick.  Thursday, we got up and had breakfast, played some games on the Switch (the kids loved the game Ultimate Chicken Horse that Marko brought.  Then we went on a tour of our town.  We visited some local shops, played at the park, got smoothies and Italian sodas and saw our local hot spots and looked for Halloween decorations.  We made some manicotti, baguettes and salad for dinner.  Then, the adults went to the temple to do an endowment session.  It was a wonderful, spirit filled session and was great to go to the beautiful Billings temple with Mark & Mayela.  Friday, we had orange french toast casserole and Big Fat Lunchbox burritos for breakfast, hung out and played, wrestled, played some board games and played more on the Switch.  Then we went to the pumpkin patch in Laurel.  We played at their playground a little, enjoyed the photo ops, then we went on the hay ride.  We got to go down by the river and all around and it was a pretty but windy day.  We got to the corn maze and split up to see who would get back first.  Cov got a "leading stick" that led the way where we should go.  It was pretty funny.  He kept saying things to us like "come along, children".  We made our way out and then we got to pick a pumpkin out from the patch.  It was a fun little farm run by a local family.  Cov was having some fun bantering with our guide and driver.  We had a good time.  Then we took the old highway home, which was a beautiful drive.  We painted our pumpkins (and our clothes, our table, our chairs, our arms, our faces :/).  They turned out really cute.  Then we ate some Navajo tacos for dinner and watched the new movie Aladdin for movie night, which was a fun show.
Saturday, we woke up early for Cal's flag football game.  Then we hit up the bread store and then went up to Rimrock trail. We hiked along and that was fun and also gave me a bit of anxiety ("take 3 steps back from the ledge!").  Then we had to go to Sam's Club to gas up and get a few groceries.  Then it was back to Covey's flag football game.  The boys both did well and it's fun to see how much they've grown this year with this sport.  For lunch, we hit up the Burger Dive.  Legendary.  They loved it, especially the garlic fries.  Then we drove around Billings a bit and went to the mall and Hobby Lobby, which is what Amber and Mayela wanted to do. When we were pulling out of the parking lot, someone almost hit us and Lucy said "Watch out, drunk guy!" and Sydnie repeated it with the funniest voice. When we got back, we ate some dinner and played some board games together, including Pie Face and Pimple Pete.  Oh man, so funny!  Sunday, we got up and got ready for church.  Then we went to church, which was really great and then had a Potluck after church.  So it was good to be there for that.

Mayela and I stayed up talking every night which was fun to get to know her better. The kids love Marko so much and we just love Amber too!  It was a fun fall break!
