General Conference is the best!

We had another exhilarating and uplifting weekend.  Oh, General Conference, how I love you and need you! The world is so full of chaos and crazy and I'm thankful for the peace and protection that comes from listening to and obeying the words of the living prophets.  I know they speak the words of God.   I saw this cute little "movie trailer", which wasn't put out by our Church, but it is so fun I had to share it on social media. My life is so blessed by General Conference.  I think our kids have watched President Monson wiggle his ears in this video a couple dozen times over the past week, haha!  Here's the link -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3sAJY7VVFY.  

The overall themes for me were : 

keeping faith strong
making the Sabbath day and sacrament a sacred experience
limiting distractions and focusing on things that matter most
preparing for what's to come

It seemed that the leaders are getting bolder.  I could feel the hastening of the work as they spoke.  I'm so thankful for Conference and the lift I get as I hear the messages.

Emma and I enjoyed listening to the Women's session together.  We painted nails also together while we were at it.  Then, the weekend full of Conference, we woke up and listened, played with Legos, colored, and did puzzles as we listened and watched.  Saturday afternoon, we went fishing for a while, which the kids loved.  They wished we could've stayed longer, but Dad had to get back to the Priesthood session.  That night, I made cinnamon rolls for the morning.  We usually make some yummy treat for breakfast and this is what the kids wanted.  And it was funny because a couple of our neighbors also made cinnamon rolls for Conference and shared them with us.  By Sunday, some of the kids were saying "Conference is so LONG!", "this is so boring!" and "Is it over yet?"  It's funny how perspective changes.  I used to feel that way as a kid, too, but now I can't get enough and wish it could last longer!  :)  I'm so excited to read and hear the messages over and over (when I can actually hear uninterrupted and the kids are in bed of course).  Conference is not long enough.  It is so exhilarating.  And I wish it would never be over.  Now is the challenging part to let the messages take place in my heart and change for the better.  Doing this makes General Conference the best!
