Visiting Boji, beaching it at Bear Lake, and getting a glimpse of the new Ogden temple

We got to go see my sis Amy and Kolby and Boji in Lyman one weekend.  It's always the best to see them!  We had fried chicken for dinner, rode around on the horses (our kids loved that, ha!) and the four wheelers and then were off to Kolby's baseball game.  The kids had a great time playing on the playground there.  When we got back, we talked a lot and made s'mores in the backyard.  It's been so fun seeing Boji grow up and to see Amy and Kolby as parents.  Love them!  (Thanks Am, for letting me use the pics you took!)

Friday morning, Amy made us a delicious breakfast (there's a reason we called her Amy Stewart growing up, she puts Martha to shame!)  and then we headed out to Bear Lake for the day.  It was a little on the chilly side, but sunny and not windy or raining, so we'll take it!  It was beautiful.  It had been years since we went to Bear Lake, and it was good to go back.  The water is beautiful, and the setting so pretty.  We played in the sand, swam, splashed, dug to our hearts content.  I even took a nap in my camp chair while holding the baby.  It was bliss!  It was so nice, the perfect way to spend a Friday!  Then we stopped at Laketown Drive-In for shakes before driving to Grandma's house.

Friday night, we had pizza with the Ryerses and everyone was there.  We were able to see Shirley, who had just gone through some chemo.  She's doing amazing, what an inspiration!  She's totally having such a great attitude about this whole cancer thing.  We love her and are so proud of her.  Please pray for her!  I love that Lucy always says in her prayers "We're thankful that Aunt Shirley can get feeling better!" It was great visting with everyone.

Saturday, we did some shopping and got some much needed items that are way overpriced where we live.  We were able to go to the newly renovated Ogden Utah LDS temple open house with both sides of the family.  It was remarkable and so beautiful!  It was a neat experience to take the kids.  Lucy and Cov have never done this, and Cal was too little to remember the last time we were able to see a temple before it was dedicated.  They did a great job with the signage, letting everyone know what everything was in the temple and what the purpose of the temple was.  The artwork was stunning, so many touching pictures.  And the celestial room, with it's chandelier was breathtaking.  I can't wait to go back and learn and grow in this place.  Truly, "the temple is the house of the Lord.  The basis for every temple ordinance and covenant... is the Atonement of Jesus Christ.  Every activity, every lesson, all we do in the Church, point to the Lord and His holy house."  - Russell M. We got to go with Jerry, Stacy, Tayla, Kaison and Brody, Brian, Randy, Grandma and Grandpa Stoddard, and Grandma and Grandpa Ryerse.  Lucky us!

Ha ha, do you love Dave's shorts and t-shirt?  He wanted to make those who weren't dressed up not feel bad.  Right....
