A Great Work

This year for Come, Follow Me, we are focusing on the Doctrine and Covenants and Church history. As a family for one of our goals, we chose to memorize a scripture from D&C each month.  The first month we chose to memorize “Wherefore, be not weary in well doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work.  And out of small things proceedeth that which is great.  Behold, the Lord requireth the heart and a willing mind” (D&C 64:33-34). This also happens to be the theme scripture for youth this year. We feel so thankful for the restoration, what it has added to our lives and that it is ongoing and we get to be a part of this “great work”. We had our kick off party and are ready to study!  We have our illustrated nice copy of the D&C and every night when we are done reading discuss a question. We have also been reading Saints volume 1, which has been fun. played some games, had some pioneer stew and corn muffins, things the early saints might have enjoyed. Since starting the Come, Follow Me program, it seems that every year, what we are studying is just what we need. Our lives are a great work and I am thankful to be involved and hope we can do what we can to build up His work, which is our work.
