Daddy...he's got a pizza our hearts!

We celebrated Dave for Father's Day in a very tasty way.  It was the day Dave left to start work in Columbus.  But we were glad we got one last day with him before we had to part ways for a while.  And we were able to spend a weekend in Canada with him the couple of days before that.  He's so fun to play and laugh and be with the kids.  He knows how to make the good times roll!  They love him greatly, and now that we don't see each other during the week for the next few weeks, it makes our love for him grow even stronger.  "I miss Daddy!" I hear so much.  I'm glad they miss him.  We definitely feel a void with him not around.

In the morning, we woke and made some breakfast pizzas.  We made an egg, bacon and cheese one (which was a hit) and a peanut butter jelly breakfast pizza (which was not a hit).  We decorated with some pizza things a bit and gave Daddy his cards and gifts. We were stuffed as we got ready for church and were on our way.

Sacrament meeting was really good, though it was about ministering efforts, not fathers, which was fine. In Primary, we had a special pizza party with our dads and men in our ward.  We ate pizza, had root beer floats, and played a game I put together.  We did a "pin the toppings on the pizza" game where there was an activity on each of the pizza toppings we had to do.  Some were singing Primary songs about dads, giving a dad a high-five, telling our favorite thing to do with our dads.  Then after the activity, one of the kids would get blind folded and have to try to get closest to the center of the pizza.  My favorite activity was playing "who's your daddy?" and having 4 of our dads go behind a sheet and they took of their shoes and the kids had to guess whose feet were their dads.  It was hilarious and they loved it!  They also made cute pizza cards for their dad.

When I was talking to the boys that night about how they'd be Dads someday, I asked them what types of fathers they'd like to be.  Cov didn't hesitate at all when he said he wanted to be just like dad.  And Cal agreed. <3

We also made pizza cards for our dads and Grandpa Chuck and sent them some pizza cutters and pizza seasonings.  I am grateful to have these awesome men touch our lives, as well as great uncles and teachers and other examples our kids have!  No matter how you slice it, we are blessed!
