Here are some of the things we've been up to this wintery spring and sprummer...
This year, jelly bean day and Earth day were on the same day. We celebrated by cleaning the park and making earth art with jelly beans.
The kids have been keeping us laughing. Cov came out at dinner one night and kept coming out inconspiciously with a different wig or two. We were busting up, as he was trying so hard to be serious. What a ham!
Sprummer's been filled with lots of Cub and Girl Scout activities and awards. Cal earned his Bear award, Lucy earned all her Daisy petals, and Emma earned many badges as well.
We were able to get away a couple of times. Once, we went to Sydney overnight and then explored surrounding areas. We went swimming at the hotel, played at parks where Sydnie enjoyed her first swing ride, out to eat, and then to Fort Union trading post and Fort Buford, then we finished off at the Missouri-Yellowstone confluence center. So great to just be together and enjoy the sunshine again!!
We also went to Columbus to go house shopping. Ah, we struggled for a week and a half between a home in the country and a new home being built in town. After cost comparisons, pros and cons lists, drawing, we finally decided on the one being built, as it is so close to work and school, so that will be nice. It was exciting to be down there, and get a better feel for the community. And we loved the branch! When we pulled in the parking lot, the youngers pointed up to the steeple and asked "What's that!?" since we meet in a house in our current Church branch, they are not used to seeing that. Made us laugh. I was so worried they would not like it, seeing as there are quite a few retired aged folks and only a few young families. I asked God to show me a sign if it was truly right and help them feel the Spirit if it was, as I was so nervous they would not like it. but when I asked after how it went, they replied "we love it! When can we come back?" The few youth they had (our kids literally doubled the Primary) were awesome and they loved their teachers and leaders. All of the adults were so excited and told us how they've been praying for growth and here we were! We saw the branch directory, and it was a long three pages. So many on the rolls, not many coming. So there's work to do and we're excited to be a part of that work. We also got to go do some fun things - we did some shopping, went out to eat, swimming, to see a movie and to the temple grounds. The kids said when we got Taco Bell on Cinco de Mayo "No one out tacos Brian" since he's a big TB fan, lol! At the temple, it was sweet when Cov and Lucy said as they touched the flowers, they even felt the Spirit. They felt God's presence as they felt the things on the temple grounds. Such truths! The Spirit is present even on the site!
We have a little crawler, cruiser, stander here. Sydnie is all over and she's been so fun to watch. The kids have been so excited about her milestones, too. The kids just love her and she loves our kitty as of late. They are little buddies. Jazzy will come check on her when she is crying. She's only scratched her once when she was trying to play, other than that, she's never got her paws into it. They love to stand side by side and watch the world go by. So sweet!
