Happy Father's Day to Dave - Nailed this Fatherhood thing!

We celebrated Father's Day Sunday and it was such a great day!  We had ward conference and got a new branch president, all of the stake leaders were here and we were instructed well.  Afterwards, we had a potluck with Italian foods that was good.  He's not much for pictures of him, so I didn't take a ton.  But he's always teaching and helping and playing with our kids and they love him so much!  Cov especially is his little helper and loves being with him, asking questions and helping out with projects.  They all love helping him out though and he's such a great example of a hard worker.  Since Dave is such a handy man, we decided to do a tool theme for his Father's Day party and dinner.  We had signs all over the kids helped us make that had fun puns on them dealing with tools and fixing things.  We had a bunch of snack foods to munch on with tool themes.  We grilled up some cheese stuffed hamburgers with all of the fixings to eat. After dinner, we played a few games.  The best one was "spin the wrench" where we took turns spinning a wrench and whoever it was pointing to had to answer a question about their dad (Dave & I answered about our dads and the kids got a kick out of learning more about them).  We had "What is something Daddy always says?" (Responses: "I love you", "We work and then we play", "There's a time and a place", and for Grandpa Scott "Yeaaaah, buddy!" and for Grandpa Dan "You're kidding!").  "What's your favorite thing about your Dad?" ("He's nice", "he's fun", "he's a hard worker", "he plays with me", for Grandpa Scott "He's good at service", for Grandpa Dan "He is a great example."  "What have you learned from your dad?" "What's your favorite things your dad cooks? ("Ribs", "brisket", "Daddy -- he has the meat", "peanut butter bars" for Grandpa Scott - "NOT Pinocchio pasta, for Grandpa Dan - "NOT depression food where Grandpa mixes whatever they have together and heats it up, but big pots of oatmeal he'd make"). "What's your favorite memory with Daddy?" ("Playing Barbies", "Staying up late with Daddy", "Going to the park with Dad", "Going to the hotel", for Grandpa Scott "Going boating with him", for Grandpa Dan "Working in the backyard together). "What is something you look up to about your Dad?" ("He teaches me", "he is nice", "he is always working hard", "he is an example" and for Grandpa Scott "He fulfills his callings well", and for Grandpa Dan "he never lost his temper and is happy.").  Then we let him see his card.  We made him a tool belt card and had gifts of our help from each of us on each tool.  He asked us not to get him any presents because we've had to buy so much lately.  But he loved the card!  Happy Father's Day, love!  You are the greatest thing to ever happen to us!
