Back on December 12, Mom/Grandma Di turned 60! Since we weren't close, we orchestrated closely with Amy to make sure Mom had a birthday to remember. We sent out letters and e-mails and calls to everyone we knew who knew her asking for cards or letters. We were hoping for 60. Then we planned (mostly Amy) a surprise party for her with her friends and some family at Waffle Luv on her day. She was so excited! We also got her a necklace that had all of the kid's fingerprints on it which she loves. "You've touched our lives and left fingerprints on our hearts" was the theme. So each of us in our family made her cards that had to do with fingerprints and that theme. We got about 60 letters from her siblings, family members, friends, piano students, co-workers and more. She was so overcome with happiness and I hope she can pull those letters out when she needs a boost and remembers how special she is. Many have commented how young she looks, hope I get her genes! :)
My mom is so amazing! I so appreciate where she's come from, where she's been and who she is today. She has always been one to develop her talents and grow in stretch in so many areas. She puts her family first. She is a Gospel scholar. She takes care of her body like it is sacred. She is always there to listen and give great advice, when solicited. She has a great relationship with Heavenly Father. She is an example of so many things and has left an impression on my heart to last forever. Happy birthday, Mom!! (Bottom 3 photos by Amy)
