No more teachers, no more books...for a few more months!

Lucy had her last day of preschool a week and a half before school got out and we had a graduation ceremony.  I was responsible for planning and hosting it.  J  It was fun!  We did an “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” by Dr. Suess theme.  I had the kids make decorate paper hot air balloons and we put their pictures in them for the back drop.  The kids decorated their graduation caps with washi tape and stickers.  They memorized and did actions to a part from the book by Suess.  We spot lighted each child and told what each of their classmates had to say about each one.  We also talked about what their favorite parts of preschool were, their best day in preschool was, what they’re looking forward to most about school next year, what they want to be when they grow up, etc.  I presented them all with photo books I made for them all, some candy and little prizes and their diploma in a bag and then they all moved their tassels. We had lemon water, colorful cookies, veggies and dip, and little sandwiches with bright utensils and everything.  I didn’t have much time to take many pictures.  I can’t believe little Lucy is ready for Kindergarten!  She’s sure growing up!  And next year, I’ll only have one at home – crazy!

The last day of school for the kids was on Wednesday.  Cal participated in the K1 talent show.  He played a medley of his Dinosaur Party tunes on the piano.  He did a great job!  Though he wouldn’t let me take a picture of him afterward.  Emma had a track and field day and particularly enjoyed the hurdles.  We had a party at the park with a bunch of the kids’ friends and had a blast!  Ferris, Dominic, Lincoln, Tim, and Will were Cal’s friends who were able to come, Emma had Beckie, Alan, Mylee & Ester, Erika, Bella, Zoey & Kenna and Christine.  Lucy and Cal enjoyed playing with the few little brothers and sisters that came like Jacob, Garrett, Daniel, Emily, and Arthur.  We had ice cream floats, played bubble tag, “Duck, duck, splash!”, and the thimble game, goofed around on the playground, made autograph books, and more.  It was the perfect way to spend the end of school and the beginning of summer and to see some of our great friends for maybe that last time here.  Our kids have been so blessed to have such great friends, as have I! There are some amazing kids around here!

We also had cousin Amber come spend that week with us.  The girls had a blast playing together, we went to the park lots, they loved being fashion designers and doodling outfits together, staying up late talking and more. Amber is a sweet cousin and the kids are lucky to have her!  This first picture is of the kids all 5 years ago and popped up on my FB feed the first day Amber came!  My, how they've changed!

One day, while the older kids were at school, the kids started doing an impromptu conga line, it was cute!

Thursday, we went to Casper, since Dave had to get drug testing done for his new job and that’s where the facility was at we had to go to.  So we made a day out of it and went to a couple of parks, visited the mall, went to the Geological Museum at Casper college, went out to eat, and did some shopping.

Friday, the kids really wanted to do a lemonade stand, so of course we let them, and they all made good money, about $25 to split 5 ways!  J Carmen, our neighbor’s niece also came over to visit for part of the summer again, so the kids have loved playing with her again!

The first full week of summer, we started out by putting together our bucket list, Emma wanted to get it ready and so she did.  Thanks, Em!  We've got some good ideas we've all contributed and we'll see how many we can make happen with moving and all!  We also got their report cards back and I'm proud of my students and their amazing grades!  (We just won't talk about Cal's attendance this year...he seemed to get slammed with every sickness every time...poor guy!)

We love being outside so much!  The kids wanted to get to all of the parks again one more time before we moved.  So we got to them all the last few weeks.

We also got to meet our good friend's new baby, J.C. before we left. She was born early so we were glad we got to see her!  She was a sweetie and Lucy loved her!

The kids are so excited for the summer, and so am I!  Best time of the year!  We leave to move in just about a week and a half – ahhh!  So here's to new summer adventures!
