The BIG 30!

I'm 30!  That is sounding old, huh?  Not really so far.  This wasn't a hard birthday for me.  Just another year...trying to enjoy life a day, week, month, a year at a time.  "Come what may and love it", right?  Each stage in life has so much to offer, I'm going to try to embrace them all (even when I'm elderly, which from what I hear is not always fun).

We woke up and Dave had this present out for me he was working on a lot the day before my birthday.  It was a basket full of all kinds of things.  It said "Some say that 30..." and then there were 30 items in the basket with adjectives for how people view thirty.  For example "Wild" (Buffalo Wild Wings gift card, "Sucks" (suckers), "Colossal" (Colossal crunch cereal), "Stinks" (air freshner spray), and on and on.  Then he had a cute note in there.  It was so fun and creative!  I love my man, he always makes the effort to make things special!  One of my other favorite gifts from Dave was one he did for me about five years ago.  He made a newspaper for me and had some fun articles he wrote, advertisements he made up, special offers, and coupons.  It was so fun!

I had no laundry and big cleaning to do that day, since I busted my tail the days before to put away Christmas, catch up on laundry and do deep cleaning!  Yay!  That's a birthday present in itself.  We went to preschool for Lucy, it was my week to help out.  It is always fun, I love these sweet little preschoolers.  They are too cute!  

Then the kids and I went shopping, which I always like.  We got some great after Christmas clearance deals and some stuff to make my "cake".  

When we got home, we ate lunch, read books, put Cov down for a nap, painted our nails, and looked at my baby book.  Then I wasted some time on Facebook.  I had a lot of nice messages on there, as well as calls and texts.  I feel so loved!  Having a birthday in January is really a great way to keep away those post-holiday blues.  :)  While I was on the computer, Lucy fell asleep on my back.  She was having some screen time on my phone and just crashed.  He he!

When the kids got home, we had snacks and chatted about our days.  Then we had piano group lessons.  A few friends stopped by and I got some cards in the mail - yay for happy mail!

Then Dave got home and we went out to Su Casa for dinner.  It was pretty good, I always like Mexican food.  The kids enjoyed it too.  We also saw the Elders there and a couple from our ward, so that was a nice surprise!  Then we came home, read books, they sang to me and we had our chocolate chip ice cream pie, put the kids to bed, and we were going to watch a movie, but I actually went to bed early for a change getting a full 8 hours of sleep!

It was a great birthday!  Thanks, family and friends for making it that way.  Bring on 30!
