Fall, that's all

 Fall this year was busy, busy!

We had a back to school Skate Night that was my idea the PTO put on. We cleared out tables at the park under the pavilion, drew a course on the cement and did some other fun sidewalk chalk, brought the big speaker to provide music and brought popsicles and ice cream. This ended up being such a fun event and we can't wait to do it next year!

We enjoyed the Health and Safety fair that happened here. 

We got creative in the kitchen and made ratatouille for the first time. Some of the kids loved it and can't wait to make it again while others shrugged at the thought and only ate parts of it.

We have had some amazing storms and skies. Makes us wonder what the winter will be like! We also started getting snow in mid October. The kids were way excited about it!!

Our family was in charge of organizing our Day of Service here. We painted one of the sheds at the baseball fields as it was in need of much repair. We also weeded and cleaned up garbage, raked sand and more. We got a lot done but didn't finish so we needed to finish up another night. We got the YM/YW from our ward to wrap most of it up and now our family needs to finish in the spring because it started getting snowy!

We had some awesome band concerts here during the fall. Mrs. Reetz is the best! They did amazing for just having come off fall break. And Cov got to perform in a stirring Veteran's Day concert with the fourth graders. "Give me a V, give me an E, give me a T, give me a S! Who do we love? VETS!" We are thankful for our men and women in uniform who have or do serve in the military. God bless them and America!

Emma had some exciting things happen! First she got her drivers liscence! Woot woot!  She didn't pass the driving test first time, but got it on the second. Many say it's taken them several times before they got it. She also had her National Honor Society induction. She is also involved in Interact again this year. Service is so important and Em gets that. So far, they've already done some great things like mental health awareness projects, cleaning up garbage, tutoring, visiting nursing home patients. She is also starting to get college recruitment mail, ahhh! Emma also got chosen to be a student of the month and is doing well for her job. We are proud of you, Em!

Callahan has been working hard on and got to present his science fair project on bottle rockets. He enjoyed coming up with the idea, the trial and error, building rocket ships and getting them to blast off. He did so well! He also gave a talk at church recently on service and one of the neighbors was so cute and brought him brownies because they said he did so well. They also had a cool thing at school called Reality Town where the junior high kids got to experience the day in a life of an adult, paying bills, working, buying things, taking care of a family. We got to volunteer for that and it was a cool experience for them all! Way to go, Cal!

Lucy has been hanging out with friends, has been doing some crafts, working hard in school, started up basketball late fall, and has gotten quite sick a few times. Poor gal! She also got chosen for an award at their awards assembly!

Covey has been enjoying school and sports, gets so creative and makes his work fun (love his dance moves as he cleans the counters), asks lots of questions and likes making and building things. 

Sydnie looooves kindergarten and has the best teacher. Mrs. Olson sends us pictures of what they are doing frequently, and we love that. She is a special teacher and Syd is enoying it all. 

We had a series of At Home MTC things which was one of our family goals. We made name badges, learned some basic sewing things, went on walks, learned some easy meals to make, studied the scriptures and Preach My Gospel, and called up Grandma and Grandpa as investigators to see how we did answering their questions. "I hope they call me on a mission!"

Mom started up a new job as a GEAR UP advisor. This is a government job through Western Wyoming Community College that assists 7-12 graders prepare for secondary education by getting good grades, doing well on tests, applying for colleges and scholarships, etc. So far it has been great and we did our big training at Western. The people I work with have been awesome! Dave has been doing his thing at the hospital and made some great headway. They just extended his contract and really appreciate all of the good things he's doing to make the hospital a better place!
