It's been a long time since I highlighted the lives of our three favorite people, so I'm going to do that today! I'll start with Emma first!
Emma's three months shy of 6 now (can you believe it?) and is 52 lbs., and one of the tallest (yet youngest) kids in her kindergarten class!
Emma loves high adventure, like going "faster, daddy, faster"! She was sad when we sold the 4-Wheeler, but still finds that adrenalyne rush from something.

Like when she did the mutton busting at the fair. We were kind of surprised she did it but she held on tight and made it all the way! She also loves playing rodeo - where I'll be the bull and she'll be the rider and I'll try to buck her off! (:
Emma loves the winter, spring summer and fall and just being outdoors! She never gets too hot or too cold to play out there. Here she is on Super, Aunt Amy and Uncle Kolby's horse.

Making snow angels...Emma could be out in the snow for hours and tells me often she doesn't even need a coat!
Jumping in the leaves in the backyard!
Of course she enjoys getting messy just like any other kid, whether that's in dirt...
Emma always has a cute expression on her face! Even when it's not so real, she always can make us smile!

Emma loves, loves gum! She learned how to blow bubbles this year and gets a kick out of that! She tells me she once blew a bubble "this big" and proceeds to hold her hands up in a circle larger than her face!
Emma loves to play dress-ups and put make up on, even tries to con her brother into doing it with her. Nice look! She's also into changing her outfits several times a day and somedays she goes through five or six!

This was our missionary Family Home Evening. We had a missionary clothes relay for our activity where the kids had to put on missionary style clothing and race. They loved that! She is really learning and growing in the Gospel and can relate a bunch of scripture stories. Every day (or most days when I don't forget), we do "picture stories" in the morning. We pick out a picture from the Gospel art kit and we tell the story behind it and sing a song or Hymn related to it. Emma does really well at church also and just loves primary, especially her teacher Sister Nelson. Emma tells us she wants to serve a mission someday, she thinks.
Emma is a sweetie, just as her shirt says. Her teacher told her she's the sweetest girl and has never had any troubles with her fighting with anyone, and when she has an argument, she stays calm and tells them her opinion and tries to make peace. At home, she's almost just as good! (: Every once in a while, she will get a temper and if she's tired, it gets really bad. She can also have an attitute like you'd never believe (I'd like to say I never have a bad attitude either, but we all know that I can), yikes! But most of the time, we are blessed to be in her presence!

Emma loves her favorite cousin, Tayla! They are the best of friends and anytime they see each other they go crazy! It's been hard for Emma to live so far away from Tayla, but they were so happy to get back together when the cousins came to visit up in Washington!

Emma loves to tease her little brother, Cal. Cal doesn't always love that and says often, "Stop teasing me!" She also loves playing with my cousins Morgan and Kyle and is happy we live so close to them now! Emma loves playing with Morgan and looks up to her so much and she loves wrestling and rough housing with Kyle.

Emma is not only a tease to her little brother, she's also a big help. She's like a little Mommy to Cal and helps him out so much! Many times Cal will ask her to do things for her instead of me and she's almost always willing to do it.
She loves to read to him and loves reading now! She is doing great with her reading and sounding out the words.
They enjoy playing games together as well.
They also sometimes sleep together! This was a day they made a fort with their bunk bed, and they insisted they wanted to sleep together. They giggled and stayed awake for a while, but soon fell asleep after a long day of play! I'm so glad they're the best of friends and Emma even includes Cal when her friends come to play!
Emma did her first dance class last year. My amazing friend Jasmine was the instructor! Emma loved it and especially enjoyed the monkey bar.
Emma loves to help in the kitchen to bake, create art projects, and do science experiments. One day she and Cal were helping me make dinner, but they were both in their underwear wearing their aprons. I joked they were my naked chefs!
Painting!
Check out that classic Emma grin!

Em loves her Aunt Amy (or "Mamy")! They have a special bond and I'm so happy Emma has so many great Aunts and Uncles! (: Emma has enjoyed being pen pals with Aunt Amy and cousin Tayla, Grandmas and Grandpas, as well as helping to make cards and letters for other family members to keep in touch.

Emma is nice to her little sister, Lucy and loves to hold her and play with her. Lucy loves her back and says her name now! She is such a big help! Emma also loves it when she and Lucy are wearing matching clothes...like them in their elephant jammies or the clothes I make for them!

Emma loves her friends! She loves her friends from Ogden adn still talks about them - like Elisha, Jennica, Michelle, Ethan, Emmy, Arianna, Tavin, and the rest of the kids from the Ogden gang.

She also loves her new friends - Mia, Ayanna, Brooklyn, Guliana, McKenna, Lily, and Cruz, Bree, Johanna, and more. She's lucky to have so many sweet friends!
Emma also loves to have fun with Mommy! Here we are eating ice cream. She loves the time when Cal goes to preschool in the morning and we just get to have a little girl time. We paint nails, go shopping, read, play, do the things girls do!

Emma likes to pretend to drive and loves getting into Grandma and Grandpa's old "Beast" and pretending to cruise somewhere.
Emma always asks to go play at the park. She could do that every day!

Emma enjoys cold water. She still loves colder baths and showers over hot ones.

Likes playing school with the neighbors and Cal. She loves writing and reading. This was the first time she wrote out her alphabet all by herself.

Emma hasn't always been very physical or graceful or coordinated, but she likes to try! (: Here she is running, she especially loves racing Daddy, who she is convinced she goes faster than but still has never outrun him!

She has also been practicing lots of socccer in the backyard!
Emma was excited for our move to Washington! She has thrived having to go outside of her comfort zone and has really blossomed. She misses her family and old friends, but besides that is happy to be in WA!

Emma also had her first crush this year - she likes a little boy named Bo! She gets all embarrased when he's around and talks about him all of the time! (: The best was her last day of school when Bo gave her a hug (which he did all of the time, but this one was special). Emma was grinning from ear to ear and I wish I had my camera!! I don't have many pictures of them together, but Bo is the one standing next to her in the picture below! There are also quite a few in her Kindergarten scrapbook!
On Emma's last day of school, she brought cupcakes for her class and they had a little party for her un-birthday and because she was leaving two weeks early. She told me that all of her class was crying and she was too! I reminded her that we would be back for the next school year and she told me she knew but she was still sad to be leaving all of her friends. "I'm so saaaaad!" She cried and cried and Cal had to console her and remind her that Tayla and Kaison and all of the family would be in Utah, where we would be going for several weeks during the summer while Daddy completes a graduate internship. So she's excited to see everyone but sad to leave her friends behind for a while.
We had one last playgroup before we left so we could see some friends. Emma helped plan it. She wanted to do a "bird day" party with some friends. We made bird feeders and had birds nest treats and played with our peeps. Notice how she's in a dress-up again?
Emma has also has had some physical changes. In addition to getting bigger and taller, Emma has lost her first two teeth at the beginning of 2012! She lost the bottom two within a couple weeks of each other, and that's been it so far!
"Tickle me!" Emma always says. She always loves getting tickled and is so ticklish! Just watch out, when she really gets going, the gas does too! Her toots match up with her laughing, it's pretty funny.
She also got her first big haircut! She cut off 10 inches, which she has been growing out her whole life. She's always had trims, but never a big cut. She wanted to cut her hair at the same time as Mommy and wanted to donate it to Locks of Love. Doesn't she look so sweet?

Emma was excited for our move to Washington! She has thrived having to go outside of her comfort zone and has really blossomed. She misses her family and old friends, but besides that is happy to be in WA!
Emma started and finished her first year of school in Kindergarten! She has made a lot of progress this year and even made top marks by the end of the year, getting the highest grades she could! Here are some highlights from her first year of school. She loved, loved school! Her teacher, Mrs. C was the best! She enjoyed the projects, centers, P.E., library and field trips the best. Her least favorite thing? Math! "Math is so hard" she often told me!
"I'm so saaaaad!" Emma is a night owl! We will put her to bed at a decent time, but she'll come downstairs an hour or two later, and tell us "I can't get to sleep!" She's always been that way, has a hard time going to bed early, but likes to sleep in late! Most days, she wakes up between 9 and 10 a.m.!
"Tickle me!" Emma always says. She always loves getting tickled and is so ticklish! Just watch out, when she really gets going, the gas does too! Her toots match up with her laughing, it's pretty funny.

Look how grown up she looks! (:
